1. Introduction

1.1. In July 1998, the operation of the Dayas Music Scholarships Trust was brought within the remit of the Charities Panel, whose responsibilities have now been assumed by this Sub-Committee. Awards from the fund are considered by an advisory panel of County Council officers who have made the recommendations set out below.

2. Applications for 2001/02

2.1. The Dayas Music Scholarship was advertised across the county. Awards may be made to applicants from Hampshire, Portsmouth or Southampton.

2.2. Ten applications for awards were received. Details and recommendations are given in the attached schedule.

2.3. The maximum award is currently £600.

RECOMMENDATION

That the awards shown on the attached schedule totalling £5,192 be approved.
