1. Allocation of Seats

1.1. The Committee is asked to agree the allocation of seats on its Sub-Committees and Panels in accordance with proportional entitlements under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 as set out in paragraph 2 and to appoint members accordingly.

2. Members of Sub-Committees and Standing Panels

2.1. The Committee is invited to appoint members to serve on the undermentioned Sub-Committees and Panels having regard to proportionality. Members would serve until such time as the new Constitution of the County Council comes into operation.

3. Appointment of Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen

3.1. The Committee is also asked to appoint Chairmen and, where appropriate, Vice-Chairmen of the Sub-Committees and Panels listed above, nominations for which will be submitted at the meeting.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. That, for the purposes of Part 1 of the Local Government and Housing Act

1989, the allocation of seats on the Committee's Sub-Committees and Panels be

as set out in paragraph 2 of the report.

2. That, subject to such alterations in membership as the Committee may from

time to time wish to make, members be appointed to serve on the Sub-
Committees and Panels referred to in this report until the County Council's

new Constitution takes effect.

3. That Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the Sub-Committees and Panels listed

above be appointed for the forthcoming year.
