Summary

This report seeks endorsement of the action taken under delegated authority by the Chief Executive in consultation with the Chairman to authorise the proposals relating to the temporary buildings on education sites as set out in the report for the periods shown.

Introduction

The Education Committee's Buildings Sub-Committee at its meetings on 6 March 2001 and 5 April 2001 respectively considered proposals to seek/renew planning permission for temporary buildings on various school sites.

The revised temporary school buildings policy was approved by the Asset Management Sub-Committee on 18 January 2001 and at the Education Buildings Sub-Committee on 6 March 2001.

Full details of the individual circumstances and justifications for temporary buildings on school sites were available to the Education Buildings Sub-Committee and in the circumstances, therefore, a summary only is set out below:
