1. Summary

1.1. A standard qualification to the Council's approval of the capital programme is that where a scheme for buildings or roads is estimated to cost more than £500,000 a project appraisal must be submitted to the Asset Management Sub-Committee for approval in addition to receiving the approval of the Programme Area Committee. Accordingly, the following project appraisals are now submitted for approval.

1.2. (a) Bay House Secondary School, Gosport - Building Design Project
Appraisal for a new classroom block with IT suite and post 16 classroom and internal alterations (Approved by the Education Committee - 18 July 2001).

(b) Henry Beaufort School, Winchester - Building Design Project Appraisal for a new music, drama and art block, internal alterations and removal of temporary buildings (Approved by the Education Committee - 18 July 2001).

(c) Vernham Dean Gillum's CE (C) Primary School, Andover - Building Design Project Appraisal for an extension to replace temporary buildings (Approved by the Education Committee - 18 July 2001).

(d) Swanmore Secondary School, Swanmore, Southampton - Building Design Project Appraisal for extension (Approved by the Education Committee - 18 July 2001).

(e) Solent Mead Home for Older People - Design Project Appraisal for the re-organisation and refurbishment of the existing residential accommodation. (Adult Services Sub-Committee - 12 April 2001).




(f) South Hampshire Rapid Transit A3 Portsmouth - Waterlooville - Horndean Public Transport Priority Corridor Section 1 - Widley to Purbrook - Project Appraisal for sections of A3 footway adjacent to Park Avenue to serve the new Toucan crossing to be converted to shared use cycle track under Sections 65 and 66 of the Highways Act 1980 (Planning and Transportation Committee - 22 January 2001).

(g) Fareham Western Wards - Western Distributor Road - Schooner Way to Dibles Road - Project Appraisal (externally funded) for the length from Schooner Way to Dibles Road to enable this section to be built as a first phase (Environment Committee - 25 June 2001).

RECOMMENDATIONS
