Domiciliary (Personal) Care – Adults and Older People – Approved List
The County Council through its Social Services Department maintains an Approved List of Domiciliary (Personal) Care Providers for community care funding purposes. These Providers have accepted the Terms and Contract Conditions agreed between Hampshire County Council and the representative body the Hampshire Domiciliary Care Association. This form of contract is also used by the Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils. The Approved List covers independent sector providers of domiciliary services to Adults and Older People. All Approved List Providers must also be legally registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) and meet the standards set out in the Domiciliary Care National Minimum Standards (NMS) Regulations. Further information about the registration process and inspection reports can be obtained from the CSCI website.
All registered domiciliary (personal) care providers for adults and older people in Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton are automatically invited to join the Approved List. Providers outside Hampshire around its borders who regularly supply services into Hampshire are also invited to join the Approved List. Care is purchased for Service Users either on a “spot” purchase individual basis or by means of a block contract.
NB - The three Local Authorities also have an in-house home care service - details of which can be found in the
Guide to Care at Home.
