Introduction
Hampshire County Council's Architecture and Design Unit aims to design the highest quality public buildings. The department has, for many years, achieved a national reputation for award winning buildings that provide environments that are innovative, inspirational and practical.
The Architecture and Design Unit provides a complete architectural and design service for all the County Council's new and existing buildings, including schools, libraries, offices, social services properties and museums. Professional expertise is offered in one centrally located multi-disciplinary environment offering the range of services detailed below:

Selected projects are undertaken for clients outside the County Council that have included further education colleges, fire stations, museums, private sector education buildings and schools for the Church of England and Catholic Diocese.
Based in Winchester, the department has an interesting and varied multi-million pound workload. Around 90 designers work in a studio environment using the latest information technology and integrated computer aided drawing systems.
