Introduction
The Landscape Group forms an integral part of the Architecture and Design group, working closely with each architectural team from feasibility through to implementation for all new build, extensions and improvements.
The practice responds directly to approaches from Hampshire’s schools for self funded projects, and in partnership with the HCC Environment Department’s School Landscape Programme. This aims to engage schools and their local communities in the development of school grounds.
Together with the rest of the Architecture and Design team, the Landscape Group is involved with the South East Centre of Excellence (SECE). This work can be anywhere in the South East of England, working with the many local authorities across this area.
The Landscape Group also takes a leading role in the building of new external sports facilities. These projects provide for a wide spectrum of physical exercise both for formal team sport and more informal games and play; from the whole range of athletics events, through to full sized synthetic pitches for football and hockey. Encouraging exercise is seen as a priority and the provision for sport is becoming higher on the agenda for school development.
