Recruitment
The Property Services department is responsible for the management of the County Council’s land and the design, construction and maintenance of its buildings. It currently employs over 500 staff in its central Winchester offices and has a budget in the region of £100 million every year.
The department prides itself on both the quality of opportunities it offers to staff and its ambition to provide a service and product of the highest standard. Hampshire’s property-related work has consistently grown over the last decade, together with its complement of professionals. This is in marked contrast to the public sector nationally.
The national agenda and political climate is now changing for the better, to support investment in public buildings. We aim to make a difference to people’s lives – school pupils, teachers, care workers, people with disabilities and more.
Surely you want to negotiate and complete some of the best quality land deals that any local authority has to offer; spend millions on a secondary school site to make a significant improvement to its condition, look and environment; design, engineer and procure a new building that will be remembered?
We are always open to approaches from talented individuals and regularly employ students and graduates. Personal career development and opportunity is central to the department’s ethos.
