Assistant Cook

We have a vacancy for an Assistant Cook to work in our busy dining room.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated person with at least one year's experience as an assistant cook, preferably producing at least 40-60 meals per session in outdoor activities, commercial or industrial settings. Intermediate Hygiene Certificate is desirable but not essential as full training will be given, this may include sponsored day release for further catering qualifications. Kitchen Assistant (part-time)

A Kitchen Assistant is required to join our team in the Centre’s busy Kitchen. Job Sharer welcome. Minimum age 18 years.

Weekly alternating shifts to cover breakfast, lunch and evening meal, plus 9 weekends p.a. to be worked. Basic Food Hygiene training will be given.

Week 1
Monday 1000-1930 (½ hr break) 9 hours
Tuesday to Friday 1400-1930 (½ break) 5 hours per day 20 in total

Week 2
Monday No shift 0
Tuesday to Friday 0700-1400 (½ hr break) 6.5 hours per day 26 in total

W/E Saturday (9 p.a.) 0700-1930 (2 x ½ hr break) 11.5 hours
W/E Sunday (9 p.a.) 0700-1400 (½ hr break) 6.5 hours

£6.03 per hour, plus 50% weekend enhancement, pay award pending 01.04.08.

Visiting Instructors

Calshot employs part time visiting instructors to teach water and land based activities. Applicants must hold full National Governing Body Instructor awards as well as valid First Aid qualifications. Most work is for weekends and evenings.
