New bus stop panels for the villages in the study area (Upper Farringdon, Newton Valence, Selborne, East Tisted, Hawkley, Steep and Liss)

2. Integrated Access Demonstration Project

Bus shelters installed on A3 at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

PETERSFIELD AREA TRANSPORT STRATEGY

£400,000

Funding from 2000/01 and 2001/02

a) Penns Place to rail station cycle route

Stage 1 Penns Place to Pulens Lane completed; remaining 3 stages are being designed by Atkins

b) Shopmobility

Scheme up and running

c) Pedestrian improvements for mobility impaired.

Dropped kerbs to be constructed following consultation with disability groups

d) Passenger transport improvements at rail station

Bus shelters in forecourt renewed with improved and increased cycle parking

e) Town centre improvements and 20 mph zone

£660,000

Various funding including Country Towns Initiative, highway maintenance, CHARTS 2000/01, and LTP top-up from 2002/03 programme; 20 mph for 'historic core' with associated environmental improvements in The Square, High Street, St Peters Road and Hylton Road. Contract awarded to Caroway Contractors Limited; St Peters Road completed; The Square started early September 2002; Hylton Road spring 2003; 20 mph zone implemented after completion of all above works.
