This range of county music ensembles builds on and extends the opportunities available in Hampshire's 58 area groups. County ensembles provide a very high quality of performing opportunities for Hampshire's most able young musicians. Each group has a full schedule of rehearsals and concerts and a high level of commitment is required. You are welcome to visit rehearsals for any of these ensembles before deciding whether to apply. Please contact Shirley Taylor at the Hampshire Music Service if you have queries about HCYO, HCYC or HCCC, or Jill Larner if you would like further information about HCYB or HYJO or any of the area ensembles. Membership is open to all pupils up to the age of 19 years who are in full-time school/college education. However, priority will be given first to Hampshire residents, and then to non-Hampshire residents attending Hampshire schools and colleges. Although grade examinations need not have been taken, the minimum standard for applications for the training ensembles is approximately Grade IV. You may apply for membership in more than one instrument. Please complete a separate form for each instrument/voice. You may also apply for membership of more than one ensemble. Please indicate in order of preference the ensemble for which you are applying, by numbering the relevant boxes overleaf (1 is first choice).
