Transitional Support Grant

The allocations are subject to important conditions which will result in funding being withheld if schools do not meet them. The County Council will not be able to access the full grant of £3.455m unless we can confirm to the DfES that all schools will have a balanced/stable budget by 31 March 2007. The County Council is required to agree a recovery plan with each recipient (deficit budget) school in order to produce a balanced budget.
It is expected that all schools will produce an annual budget (for 2005/06) agreed by the Governors and notified to the LEA (via Education Financial Services) by 31 May 2005. In addition all schools in deficit and/or in receipt of more than £15,000 from TSG in 2004/05 or 2005/06 are required to:
- produce a balanced three year budget plan
- meet Schools Forum agreed requirements for regular monitoring statements - normally quarterly, and
- produce an annual update of the recovery/stability plan progress by 31 May each year.
Allocations to individual (deficit) schools will not be released if requirements on monitoring and production of annual plans are not met.
