Disclosure of information

Legal representation

Confidentiality in the counselling setting is a way of providing a safe place for the client.  This enables trust to be built between the counsellor and the client which enhances the effectiveness of the counselling.  Any limitation on the degree of confidentiality is likely to diminish this effectiveness.

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy includes clear guidelines on confidentiality and are fully supported by esl.

esl employees

All of the esl team are required to be members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the division The Association for Counselling at Work.  As such all are bound by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
