2.49 The Borough and District Councils have prepared, or are in the process of preparing, local plans to cover their areas. These local plans may include proposals for land covered by this Plan. Whilst district local plans must not include policies and proposals for minerals or waste development, they may include policies and proposals affecting mineral and waste sites, particularly in relation to proposed after-use and general environmental issues. District Councils are under a statutory obligation to consult the County Council in the preparation of their local plans. It is not anticipated that there will be any significant differences between those plans and this Plan but, if there are, the provisions of the later adopted plan will prevail.
