District-level housing targets

The Regional Assembly submitted Part One of the South East Plan on 29 July 2005. It proposes the building of 28,900 new homes per year in the South East Region. Of these 6,100 per annum would be in Hampshire as follows:-.

The Regional Assembly commissioned the County Council to sub-divide these figures into targets for individual Districts. In South Hampshire, the County Council is required to undertake this task in conjunction with Portsmouth and Southampton City Councils.

Public consultation on draft District targets took place between 5 September and 21 October 2005.

After considering the comments received, the three Councils submitted proposals to the Regional Assembly on 9th December 2005.
