Archaeology In Store

The major collections held in 'store' reside with the Hampshire County Council Museums Service and Winchester City Council Museums Service.

Recently excavated material, however, will probably be held for some years by the excavating body - i.e.

Wessex Archaeology
University of Reading (Silchester)
Institute of Archaeology, Oxford (Danebury)
King Alfred's College, (Corhampton)

In addition, other institutions both within and outside the County may have material found in Hampshire soil in long-term care, e.g.
