Description and Date: Hill Fort (Remains)
Remarks: Merdon Castle. Some remains of keep. Motte and bailey of C.12. Probable site of Iron Age hill fort. Merdon was centre of the Hundred of Buddlesgate. Deserted mediaeval settlement.
