Description and Date: Earthwork
Remarks: Oliver's Battery or Priest's Croft. Large mound and irregular depression, possibly motte with double bailey. Now much reduced by ploughing. Site referred to in Saxon documents as 'The Monastic or Priest's House .... called King's Horse Croft.' Now part of village recreation ground. O.S.A. No. SU65 SE4. Ref: 1.
