Barrows (3) (Sites)
One bell, one bowl and a probable disc barrow. No trace remains and the area is now covered by a housing development. Two of these barrows were excavated, one by Willis Museum Archaeological Group in 1964, the other by the Ministry of Works 1965/6. Neither fully published. O.S.A. No. SU65 SW41. Ref: 1. R.A.F. Pottery
Fragments of pottery found during extension to the sewage farm. Sherds were very coarse, unevenly fired and all handmade with finger impressions. O.S.A. No. SU65 SW51.     SU 649 530

Hill Fort
Winklebury Camp. Complex defence sequence dating from about the C.4 to the C.1 B.C. Close set palisade had later been covered by a rampart and then subsequently enlarged. Much mutilated by ploughing and housing development. Site excavated by D. of E. prior to school construction. Findings published in P.P.S. Dec. 1977. O.S.A. No. SU65 SW10. Ref: 1.
