Holy Ghost, South View. Built between 1214 and 1244. Originally a chancel and nave with a tower at the west end. Fragment remaining in cemetery is part of tower, used for many years as a schoolroom. St. M ichael. Earl iest parts are the chancel, chapel and vestry, possibly C. 14. Nave, aisles and tower rebuilt in the C.16. Flint and stone chequer War Memorial Chapel added 1920. Holy Trinity, South View. Built by Lord Sandys of brick cased in stone. Now a roofless structure with tower and south wall standing. Oak framed door in Basingstoke Museum. Damaged during Civil War when lead was taken for manufacture of bullets. Final ruin dates from 1692 when repairs estimated to have cost œ20 were not undertaken. O.S.A. No. SU65 SW25. Ref: 1.
