Guildhall. Original portion 1871-3. Gothic building of 'middle pointed' style, with tall central tower, angle pavilions and slated French pavilion roofs. Yellow sandstone with red stone dressings. Porch of three bays with granite columns. Archway on right. Much carved decoration. Cleaned and restored 1971. Western lower extension of 2 storey of flint with pointed windows added 1892-3.
