Manor Farmhouse, formerly Foxcotte Farm. 2 storeys and basement. Hipped tile roof, brick dentil eaves. Red brick with rubbed flat arches stone sills. Sash windows. Doorcase has canopy on carved brackets, fanlight over flush panelled door. Steps flanked by wrought iron rails. Built on probable site of mediaeval manor house. O.S.A. Foxcotte Church Tower. On the site of a pre 1196 chapel which was rebuilt circa 1830 and demolished in 1908 leaving only this tower. Pyramid tile roof. No. 2. Star and Garter Hotel. Early C.19 coaching inn. 3 storeys. Low pitched slate roof. Stucco walls. Moulded architraves to middle windows. 2-storeyed bow windows to each side. Porch has fluted columns and flat roof which extends on each side, forming balconies to the three middle windows, with wrought iron rails. Pilasters flank the wide entrance, with half-glazed door and decorative fanlight. Lower building attached to the north, with oval-arched carriageway entrance. | T. & C. P. Act C.A. |
