Gillum's School, Vernham Dean. Opened lst January 1856, replacing a former Dame's School. Walls mainly of undressed flints with brick dressings, slate roof, typical of many of its period. It was built largely by the generosity of the then vicar the Rev. Gillum, later to become Dean Gillum. Originally the building had a bell tower.
