St. Francis. Built in 1836, the architect was probably Jacob Owen. The church is T-shaped and stuccoed, with traceried windows, hoods and bargeboards. An important feature is the stained glass window by John Ruskin, which was removed from a church in Gloucestershire.     T&CP Act

No. 99, Brook House. Two storeys built in red brick with grey headers, three sash windows with gauged brick arches. Central panelled door with spyglass, in reeded architrave, with segmental hood on slim pillars. Modern pantiled roof. Could be much older than date given.     T&CP Act

No. 1. Formerly two buildings, the southern one on the corner with West Street. This is of painted brick, with pantiled roof, two storeys with early C.20 altered shop front with corner door. The northern section was refronted in C.19. It has three storeys, stuccoed facade with moulded cornice forming coping to parapet, the old tiled hipped roof is visible above the parapet. Sash windows and altered C.20 shop front.     T&CP Act

No. 2. A three-storey building with a C. 1 8 stucco facade, and old tiled hipped roof, the gable end faces the street. Modern shop front, entrance to rear under building. Internal evidence proves that this building was originally timber-framed, now much altered.     T&CP Act
