No. 393, two storeys, attic and basement. Red brick structure. Old tile roof with hipped dormer. Cornice and parapet with coping. Recessed sash windows with glazing bars. Doorway reached by four steps. Charles Dickens was born in this house on 7 February 1812, when it was known as 1, Mile End Terrace. It is now a museum.     T&CP Act

Ground floor has narrow windows within stone framework. One door with inset porchway surmounted by stone pediment, two other doors. Now converted to three flats.     CA
