St. Phillip's. Built 1936-8 by Sir Ninian Comper. Plain red brick construction with pointed windows with plain stone dressings. Thin pinnacled buttresses to sides. Low west gable with corniced pedimented bellcote breaking through. Interior has four-bay nave with composite whitewashed columns supporting plaster mock-vaults. The canopied altar is in the nave. Blue and gilt decoration.     T&CP Act
