Quebec House. Built as a bathing house for sea-water bathing by public subscription in 1754, altered early C.19. Two storeys faced with weather boarding. Low pitch hipped slate roof. Three flush framed sash windows to east entrance front, shutters on two ground floor windows. Double panelled and glazed doors in pilaster frame surmounted by projecting cornice. Formerly Her Majesty's Customs Waterguard Office. Two storeys and attic. Brick front, with dentil cornice and parapet. Hipped mansard tiled roof with dormer window. Four recessed sash windows on first floor, two on ground floor. Double flush panelled door to right. Side elevation is red brick and grey headers. Rear elevation has a canted first floor bay window with tile hung apron. Extending out at first floor level beyond landing stage is a renewed walkway with an observation hut at the end, weather-boarded with leaded pyramid roof. | T&CP Act CA |
