Nos. 7-24. Three storeys and attic. Painted stuccoed walls. Slate mansard roof. Centre bay with Ionic columns in front of the two upper storeys. Doric colonnade running whole length and supporting continuous balcony. Half-glazed entrance doors with rectangular fanlights of various designs. Ref: 1. Fortifications S of Crescent Road, in grounds of R.N. Physiological Research Laboratory. Part of the No. 5 Battery of the Stokes Bay Lines built between 1860 and 1864 on the site of one of the 1780 redoubts. Much of the ramparts and several of the magazines are in fine condition.
