Images of Hampshire Screensaver
Available for Windows 95/98/NT or Windows 3.1
Hampshire is one of the largest and oldest of English counties, lying at the heart of central Southern England and at the gateway to Europe. Its landscape and architecture, its folklore, history, traditions, food, drink, its art, music and literature all help to define Hampshire - and to make it unique.
Our screensaver consists of a series of photographs from around the Hampshire countryside which are featured in "Hampshire: A Sense of Place" with photographs by Judy Harrison and text by Peter Mason. The book is published by Hampshire Books and is available from Hampshire County Council Information Centres and other good bookshops.
Judy Harrison's evocative photographs highlight Hampshire's distinctive characteristics in a way that will give enormous pleasure to visitors and residents. The screensaver features a traditional market in Alresford; a game of cricket on Broadhalfpenny Down; Jane Austen's House in Chawton; Hampshire hogs in the New Forest; Southampton Water; Netley Abbey; a traditional Hampshire thatched cottage at Abbotts Ann and a fishing hut on the River Test, one of Hampshire's famous rivers.
Our screensaver celebrates in pictures many of the special features of the county of Hampshire.
