Stockbridge
Stockbridge consists of earlier settlements categorised by 1810 and post 1810 settlements ( landscape types 9.7 and 9.6 ) The settlement is divided to the west by the river Test, which is in turn flanked on both sides by a number of valley floor types (7.1, 7.2 and 7.3). To the east of Stockbridge we see an area of small regular fields with straight boundaries (1.9).Further to the east of the town lies an area of common downland which is flanked to the north by downland and to east lies a prehistoric and roman hillfort. In the south-east corner we see a mixture of assarted woodland and regular assarts (1.4 and 4.1). To the north easterly area of the image we see large areas of golf course, orchards and plantations(11.2, 3.1 and 4.5).
