Havant Museum tells the story of the Borough of Havant from ancient times to the present day. Displays also include the internationally famous Vokes Collection of Sporting Firearms. A varied programme of exhibitions always ensures that there is something new to see in this lively community museum.There are free family-friendly drop-in activities and trails during the school holidays.

    Local displays
    Learn how the people of Havant worked and played over the last century with displays about schools, wartime, guides, pubs, mills, buildings, churches, and unusual local industries such as Scalextric, glove making and parchment making.

    Our aquarium will help you understand the fishing industry based on Langstone Harbour. Puzzle over the mystery of the Hayling Island Hoards. Find out why the Hayling Billy made its last run. A fine collection of watercolours by various artists, including William Grant, are included in many of the displays around the building.

    Clock Gallery
    A fine display of over 80 clocks which are some of the finest timepieces made since the 18th century. It includes sundials, pocket watches, travelling clocks, and the magnificent Congreve’s Rolling Ball Clock. A clock maker’s workshop shows the tools and paraphernalia which a clock maker would use as part of his trade.

    Firearms gallery
    This internationally famous collection was put together by Cecil Gordon Vokes (1891-1961). It includes examples of some of the finest sporting firearms ever made - and some of the most beautiful.
