Welcome to Property Services

Property Services is responsible for a wide range of property and land management functions for the County Council including:

• the design of new buildings
• the refurbishment and adaptation of buildings, e.g. school buildings, older persons homes, and libraries
• health and safety risk assessment for the Corporate Estate
• the maintenance of all County Council buildings and sites
• customer services advice
• the purchase, sale and development of land and property
• generation of capital receipts
• the management of County Council farms
• the management of the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, a 180 acre garden near Romsey.

The property portfolio ranges from historic buildings to modern schools, libraries, social services buildings and office accommodation. The built estate is some 4,800 buildings with a total floor area of 1,340,000 square metres. Repair and Maintenance Services to schools are provided through a Service Level Agreement which all community schools have subscribed to.

Property Services also operates a customer services centre which provides a 24 hour repair and maintenance service for all County Council buildings.
