Quality

Hampshire Scientific Service operates within a framework of "total quality'- which embraces the principles and practices of NAMAS and BS ENISO 9001 Quality Systems. We regularly participate in performance assessment schemes such as MAFF's FAPAS scheme and Aquacheck. The Service strives for excellence in all areas of work and aims to continuously improve services by using the most up to date technologies, scientific techniques and work practices. Backed up by a customised computer based management information system and the latest office automation systems clients can be assured of a responsive professional service tailored to their requirements.

Qualifications

The staff of nearly 40 includes qualified Public Analysts, Food Examiners, Microbiologists, Food Technologists, Chemists and Occupational Hygienists.

Equipment

Our impressive array of modern equipment includes flame and furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometers. inductively coupled plasma spectrometers, gas chromatograph, high performance liquid chromatographs and ion chromatographs complete with a full range of detectors including GC-MS. We have a range of portable testing devices for on-site monitoring.

Special Services

The Service provides a valuable post-mortem specimen and analysis service to assist HM Coroner and veterinary practitioners to establish the cause of death. Drugs of abuse can be identified and medicines assayed. Road Trafffic Act alcohol investigations are also offered.
