Food Hygiene
Contact details | Facilities | Overview | Services
High standards of hygiene are needed in the production and handling of foodstuffs if the risk of food poisoning is to be avoided.
The Food Safety Act 1990 increased the onus on everyone concerned with food production in any form, to ensure that the procedures they use will not compromise hygiene or safety in any way.
Hampshire Scientific Service's experienced team of microbiologists, food technologists and chemists can provide practical advice and help in all areas of food control. Our food technologists carry out food quality audits in food factories.
Our scientists can monitor, assess and suggest improvements to hygiene standards. Routine analysis of raw materials, foods and ingredients is carried out. Food poisoning investigations can also be performed.
