Aims
The Service aims to provide a high quality advisory inspection and analytical service to monitor the safety of workplaces.
Health and Safety Legislation such as the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) requires specialist expertise, which may not be available within your organisation.
Our independent NAMAS accredited, quality assured service is designed to aid empoyers to provide a healthy working environment and to comply with their legal obligations in a practical cost-effective way.
Assessment
The Scientific Service has a team of qualified Occupational Hygienists which has extensive experience in:
- Auditing to assess compliance with statutory requirements
- Workplace monitoring for exposure to hazardous substances
- Assessment of effectiveness of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems
- Management of asbestos from condition surveys to monitoring of removal
- Workplace and environmental noise surveys
- Assessment of display screen equipment and office environments
Advice
Our experts offer consultancy and advice by telephone or report as appropriate. Areas of expertise include:
- risk assessment and advice on control procedures
- investigation of complaints of air quality and thermal environment
- Health and Safety legislation.
