A lamb creep How it worked <<< home
the lamp creep - animation showing how the opening can be made wider or narrower

A lamb creep was usually a wooden hurdle, with an opening large enough for a baby lamb to get through but too small for the mother to follow.

The lamb could graze away from its mother.

But as it grew bigger it would become too big to get through the opening, so another hurdle with a wider opening would have to replace it.

On the Adjustable Lamb Creep, the opening could be made wider. As the lamb grew the shepherd would gradually make the opening wider.

It was later used to block a hole in the fence.
