Evidence of Hampshire's Agricultural History

Experts often know what something is because they have seen one before. Sometimes even the experts don't know.

It is about 45cm (18 inches) wide.

There are two parallel slots with a round opening at one end of each slot

Each slot can be covered by the circular hinged cover

A leather strap is attached to each end with a wooden piece making a carrying handle.

Without some help we might never be able to work out what it was used for.
