The spelling is different on the map (left). Another map of
1826 also spells it Pucknell, but it is the same place. Place names were not
always consistent.
Pucknall is small hamlet, near Braishfield in
Hampshire, with a few houses and one large farm which is the only possible site
for Mr Wade's farm.
Mr Wade
must have been the owner of Pucknall Farm.
