Walking Bus Resources from The Co-operative Group
You may know The Co-operative as a local community
retailer. They believe we have to do all we can to reduce the
effects of climate change and, as part of their campaign, they
are offering support to schools in their trading areas for
walking to school initiatives.
Ideally they would like to provide support to walking busses that may have links with The Co-operative Group e.g. your route to school may take you past a Co-operative Food Store.
They are able to offer the following support:
Ideally they would like to provide support to walking busses that may have links with The Co-operative Group e.g. your route to school may take you past a Co-operative Food Store.
They are able to offer the following support:
- Hi-visibility vests for walkers and parent helpers (up to 40 infant or junior vests, or a mix of the two and 10 adult vests)
- Reflective snap-bands to reward children walkers
- Banners and posters to promote walking to school
As part of this project they are also looking at
ways to keep pupils enthusiasm during the winter months. They
may also be able to help find staff volunteers to help with a
walking bus, depending upon local availability.
