To consider recommendations from the Sub-Committee which will
be reported at the meeting.

4 TRAFFIC RELIEF FOR BOTLEY AND REVIEW OF COMPLETION OF WHITELEY
WAY (Report herewith)
To consider a report on the outcome of public consultations and
a recommended course of action.
5 SOUTH WEST BASINGSTOKE TRAFFIC STUDY (Report herewith)
To consider a report recommending the establishment of a members
panel to consider the conclusions of this traffic study and to
extend an invitation to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to
participate.
6 A323/A324 ALDERSHOT AREA TRAFFIC STUDY (Report herewith)
To consider a report on the outcome of further consultations -
recently considered by a Joint Members Panel - and seeking
approval to progress detailed design work on a number of schemes
and other investigations.
7 PROPOSED ABANDONMENT OF B3272 (FORMERLY A327) HAWLEY ROAD,
BLACKWATER - JUNCTION A30 TO FERNHILL ROAD (Report herewith)
To consider a report recommending that the safeguarded
improvement and widening line on a section of this road be
abandoned with immediate effect.
8 PARK-AND-RIDE FOR SOUTHAMPTON (Report herewith)
To consider the report and recommendation of the Southampton
Transportation Joint Members Panel on a possible park-and-ride
site at Redbridge.
9 PARENT PARKING AT SCHOOLS (Report herewith)
To consider a report following a meeting of the Joint Members
Panel of this Committee and the Education Committee relating to
the standards for parent parking provision for school sites.
10 SERPLAN - WASTE PLANNING - NUMERICAL GUIDANCE
(Report herewith)
To consider a report and recommended response to Serplan's draft
guidance on the volume of waste that will need to be disposed of
in Greater London and each of the main Counties in the region.
11 HAMPSHIRE MINERALS AND WASTE LOCAL PLAN (Report herewith)
To consider a report recommending that authority be delegated to
the Minerals Policy Panel and the County Planning Officer to
consider and formulate responses to objections and other
representations made on the deposit plan and those arising
during the course of the public local enquiry.
12 HMS DAEDALUS - REPRESENTATION ON BOROUGH COUNCIL WORKING GROUP
Gosport Borough Council has established a joint working group
with Fareham Borough Council to discuss issues associated with
the HMS Daedalus site. A meeting of the working group was held
at Fareham on 13th December and a further meeting will be held
at Gosport on Tuesday 8th February 1994 at 2.00pm to consider,
inter alia, a synopsis of options for the future of the site and
matters relevant to the Hampshire Minerals and Waste Local Plan.
The Borough Council has invited the County Council to be
represented and it is recommended that four representatives
(2:1:1:) be appointed to attend this meeting, and any future
meetings at which the County Council may be invited to be
represented.
13 CONFERENCES
(a) Regional Transport Strategy - Queen Elizabeth Conference
Centre, London - 7th - 9th March 1994 (Report herewith)
To consider a report on the County Council's involvement in
the preparation of the strategy to be considered at this
conference and to appoint three member representatives to
attend. The three day conference fee is £590 per delegate,
plus hotel and travelling costs.
(b) Sustainable Transport - Attainable Solutions: Merton Civic
Centre, London - 1st February 1994
This conference is concerned with how sustainable transport
policies can be turned into action. It will highlight the
key issues and how they can be tackled and will look at UK
and European examples in practice. The conference fee is
£100 per delegate.
It is recommended that the Committee appoint three
representatives to attend.

Membership of the Public Transport Consortium (Minute 39)
RECOMMENDATION:
That the County Council seek Membership of the Public Transport
Consortium at an annual cost of £200.

the Committee.
