On behalf of our residents, the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire and Hampshire County Council offer deepest sympathies to the Royal Family on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, our much loved and longest reigning Monarch.

At Hampshire County Council's headquarters buildings in Winchester, flags were lowered to half-mast.
Book of Condolence
Books of Condolence were available at the Great Hall, Winchester for messages from the people of Hampshire, as well as at Winchester Cathedral.
In addition, Books of Condolence were opened by district, borough and city councils across Hampshire.
Letter of Condolence
Letters of condolence from HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq, and from the Hampshire County Council Chairman, Councillor Marge Harvey; Leader, Councillor Rob Humby; and Chief Executive, Mrs Carolyn Williamson were sent to the Royal Family, offering Hampshire’s deepest sympathies.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, High Sheriff of Hampshire, Chairman of Hampshire County Council, and County Council Leader laid flowers at Winchester’s Great Hall in remembrance of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Members of the public were also invited to lay their own floral tributes at the Great Hall and/or consider making a small donation to a charity supported by the Royal Family.
A public Proclamation event took place at 1pm outside the Great Hall in Winchester on Sunday 11 September to announce the beginning of the reign of King Charles III.
The Proclamation was read by the High Sheriff of Hampshire.
The event was broadcast live via webcast and can be viewed again on the Hampshire County Council Youtube channel.
District and borough councils also held separate public Proclamation readings from 2pm on the same day.
The State Funeral of Her Majesty The Queen took place at Westminster Abbey on Monday 19 September at 11am.
