Pack a picnic and join the Big Lunch Jubilee celebrations at Hampshire’s country parks!

As The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend nears, Hampshire County Council’s country parks are inviting everyone to come along and celebrate being part of a ‘Big Picnic in the Park’ over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend (4/5 June)

May 3 2022

Events are taking place across Hampshire as part of The Big Lunch Jubilee celebrations. There will be music, entertainment, fun activities for children, and on Saturday 4 June Staunton Country Park will also be live-screening the national event – the Platinum Party at the Palace.

The Big Lunch is part of national celebrations over the Bank Holiday weekend, commemorating the remarkable 70-year reign of Her Majesty The Queen – our longest serving Monarch, and aims to help communities to come together in a spirit of fun, friendship and celebration.

Councillor Keith Mans, Leader of Hampshire County Council: “We are very fortunate in Hampshire to have such wonderful country parks in which to host The Big Lunch celebrations. We hope many people will get together with family, friends and their community over the special Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend and come along and enjoy the fun and entertainment planned at Hampshire’s country parks which will include live screening at some sites of the national celebrations taking place London.”

More information can be found about these events and other Jubilee celebrations across Hampshire, on the County Council’s dedicated Queen’s Platinum Jubilee webpage Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022 | Hampshire County Council (
