Hartford Bridge Flats

Hampshire County Council has appointed Mildren Construction Limited as the main contractor for the project which will add a fourth arm to the A30/A327 Hartford Bridge Flats roundabout junction. This will connect Blackbushes Road to the roundabout.

Councillor Nick Adams-King, the County Council’s Executive Lead Member for Universal Services, said: “Once completed, this scheme will mean that all traffic between the A30/A327 and Blackbushes Road can complete their journeys without a need to turn around at adjacent roundabouts on the A30.  This will alleviate pressure on nearby junctions and reduce traffic volumes along this important link to the M3 motorway, which, in turn, will improve road safety.

“Delivering a scheme of this scale will have significant benefits for road users and the local community but will inevitably involve some short-term disruption. I would like to thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding whilst these important improvement works are underway.”

Vegetation clearance at this location started in September with the main construction work planned to start later this month.

The project is expected to take six months to complete and for much of this period the existing section of Blackbushes Road to the south of the A30 will be closed to all traffic. The diversion route will be via B3013 Minley Road and the A30.
