Hampshire’s newest Extra Care scheme to host special open day

On 23 March, Nightingale Lodge in Romsey will open its doors to anyone interested in discovering more about what Extra Care accommodation can offer to those over the age of 55 with a care or support need

Mar 16 2022

At a special open day event, from 10am to 3pm, hosted by Places for People Living Plus, people will have the chance to take a tour of the modern, high spec apartments and well appointed communal facilities, with colleagues on hand to answer any questions.

Councillor Liz Fairhurst, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Lead Member for Adult Services and Public Health, said: “Extra Care offers people with a care or support need who are keen to continue living independently, the opportunity to do so. Knowing you have the privacy of your own front door, but with care on site 24/7, is hugely reassuring for those looking for the right place to live in their later years.”

Andy Lomas, Managing Director of Places for People Living Plus said “We are enormously proud of Nightingale Lodge and the high quality accommodation that is now available for those aged over 55 with a care or support need in the Romsey area. Our Open Day is a fantastic opportunity for people to see for themselves what Extra Care has to offer and we look forward to welcoming the local community through our doors.”

The development at Great Well Drive comprises 37 affordable rented homes and 17 shared ownership homes, together with 24-hour care and support on site along with a variety of additional facilities for use by both residents, as well as the local community. These include a hair and beauty salon, a restaurant and landscaped gardens.

Nightingale Lodge is a partnership development between Places for People Living Plus, Hampshire County Council, Lovell Later Living and Test Valley Borough Council.

For anyone wishing to attend the open day, the event will be held between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday 23 March and is open to all. Simply arrive at Nightingale Lodge, which is located on Great Well Drive, Romsey, SO51 7QN, and the team will be on hand to welcome you.
