Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Recreation and Heritage, Councillor Seán Woodward, said: “All Hampshire Outdoor Centres are now closed to help slow the spread of Coronavirus to communities and further afield.”
There will be no public access at any centre, including Calshot Activities Centre where the café, climbing wall, ski slopes, velodrome, campsite and toilets are now closed. Public carparks, boat storage and slipways at Calshot will remain open for the time being.
Hampshire Outdoor Centres:
- Calshot Activities Centre and Tile Barn Outdoor Centre in the New Forest;;
- Runway’s End Outdoor Centre near Farnborough;
- The Hampshire and Cass Foundation Mountain Centre in the Brecon Beacons, Wales.
Councillor Woodward continued: “We acknowledge that this will cause disruption, but the health of Hampshire residents and visitors is paramount. When we can reopen our centres will be subject to ongoing reviews.”
Anyone who has a booking in the next few months will be contacted in the next few days, but we ask for your patience during this process.
