As part of a consultation by Hampshire County Council, which runs until Sunday 17 November 2024, feedback is being sought on the draft Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the East Hampshire District area.
The aim of the LCWIP is to help identify areas which have the greatest potential for improving routes to make cycling and walking easier and more appealing – particularly for local journeys, encouraging people to leave the car at home.
The Plan sets out a network of cycle routes and walking zones and routes targeting areas that offer the biggest potential for the uptake in walking and cycling, helping to boost economic prosperity, reduce carbon pollution, promote healthy lifestyles and build stronger communities.
Hampshire County Council, East Hampshire District Council, South Downs National Park Authority, and key stakeholders have worked together to develop this draft LCWIP with the aim of delivering improvements to walking and cycling facilities across the East Hampshire area.
Having your say
Feedback on the routes and areas proposed in the consultation can be provided via the online survey on the County Council’s website.
LCWIPs will be key to the delivery of the County Council’s recently adopted Local Transport Plan 4 - which aims to influence and shape the way people travel over the next ten or more years.
