Have your say on local cycling and walking plans for the northern Test Valley area

Anyone who lives, works, visits or commutes in the northern Test Valley area is being invited to give their views on new walking and cycling proposals

Oct 21 2024

As part of a consultation by Hampshire County Council, which runs until Sunday 17 November 2024, feedback is being sought on the draft Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) for the area.

The aim of the LCWIP is to help identify areas which have the greatest potential for improving routes to make cycling and walking easier and more appealing – particularly for local journeys, encouraging people to leave the car at home.

This draft northern Test Valley LCWIP complements the already adopted southern Test Valley LCWIP (2022) so that the whole of the Test Valley borough can be covered.

The Plan sets out a network of cycle routes and walking zones and routes targeting areas that offer the biggest potential for the uptake in walking and cycling, helping to boost economic prosperity, reduce carbon pollution, promote healthy lifestyles and build stronger communities.

Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council and key stakeholders have worked together to develop this draft LCWIP. It sets out the ambition for investment in walking and cycling in the area over the next 10 years.

Feedback on the routes and areas proposed in the consultation can be provided via the online survey on the County Council’s website.

LCWIPs will be key to the delivery of the County Council’s recently adopted Local Transport Plan 4 - which aims to influence and shape the way people travel over the next ten or more years.
