Hampshire County Council by-elections announced for Winchester Eastgate and Yateley East & Blackwater Electoral Divisions

Hampshire County Council has announced that by-elections will be held on Thursday 1 May 2025 in the Winchester Eastgate and Yateley East & Blackwater electoral divisions, following the retirement of Councillors Dominic Hiscock and Adrian Collett

The names of the candidates nominated to stand for election will be published on 3 April 2025. 
 
Residents who have not registered to vote will need to do so by 11 April. You can register online, at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
 
Winchester City Council and Hart District Council are running the by-elections on behalf of Carolyn Williamson, the County Council's Chief Executive and Returning Officer.  

New applications for a postal vote must be made by 5pm on 14 April.  
 
Applications to vote by proxy must be made by 5pm on 23 April.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on 1 May 2025. 
 
Photo identification is now needed to vote at a polling station. If you are planning to vote in person at a polling station, you will need to take photo identification with you.
