The new links between Eling to Holbury, have been upgraded with new road crossings, widened footpaths and cycle paths, and better signage.

Councillor Kirsty North, Hampshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Universal Services, said: “Our goal is to make cycling and walking easier and safer, making it a viable option for local journeys. Active travel not only benefits our physical and mental health but also positively impacts the environment by improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions. This latest improvement scheme has made it easier for residents across the Waterside area to travel on foot or two wheels. A big thank you to pupils from Noadswood School in Dibden Purlieu for trying out their local section of cycle path and giving it top marks.”

The enhanced cycleways and footpaths between Eling and Holbury connect to and from Southampton, Totton, Marchwood, Hythe and Holbury, also linking to the Southampton City Council Cycle Network “SCN” route 1.
