The fund is being used to support projects which provide community benefit and help local communities thrive. It will help local organisations become financially self-supporting and not reliant on public sector funding. One-off grants of £1,000 to £3,000 will also be awarded from this fund to help pump-prime community events and activities.
Organisations set to receive funds from the Recreation and Heritage Community Fund so far are:
• The Conservation Volunteers - £2,960

• Bassline Circus - £2,999
